Kalai

This past weekend was so goood! Friday night I went down to SLCC to see Kalai. I love this guy and I have never been able to see him in concert. I'm sure alot of you know who I'm talking about because his music is so great! I love it. He's a local artist and does many shows in Utah and Idaho. Let me just say, he sounds amazing live! One of the best shows I've been too! He was hilarious too! Never a dull moment. He would say the most random, off the wall things. Nothing beats good tunes and laughter. He sang the funniest song about killing small animals! ha ha I know ya'll are probably thinkin that's not so funny, but it really was! I couldn't stop laughing, it was so catchy and all in good humor! :) before you start hatin on him, He just came out with a CD oh his own versions of LDS church hymns and some other stuff he wrote.. Its awesome!! Love it! If anyone of you want to go next time, I'll go with you :) I was kinda bummed that he didn't play one of my favorite songs so here are the lyrics. enjoy!
STRONG TIES

Strong ties can be broken by one little fight
Where one say’s you’re wrong the other I’m right
But the truth is, it’s not worth it, so I swallow my pride
And kiss every tear from your eyes

Then like a man who is barely able, I crawl to my feet
To carry the cross that you bare, I’ll be the only man who cares
I’ll be the light, you be the warmth and I’ll be there

So I hope you remember when times get rough
That you can sleep easy knowing you’re loved
And when you wake you’ll find me lying beside you
My sleeping lips pressed to your cheek

Then like a man who is barely able, I’ll rise to my feet
To carry the cross that you bare, I’ll be the only man who cares
I’ll be the light, you be the warmth and I’ll be there

I will be there when there is no passage,
I will be there when you’re on your way,
And I realize hearts still get broken...

So I’ll carry the cross that you bare, I’ll be the only man who cares
I’ll be the light, you be the warmth and I’ll be there ...

I'm in!!!!!

I did it! I FINALLY got my letter of acceptance into the Cardiac Ultrasound program at Weber State. I can't express how grateful I am for getting into this program. I have been stressed out of my mind for months now so this is a huge relief to finally know. I'll be doing my clinicals at Mckay Dee Hospital and I'm so excited to work with the great people in the Heart Institute. For those of you who don't know, my Dad is my inspiration for pursuing a career in Echocardiography. He did echos for 14 years before he passed away a lil over a year ago. He loved his job and always gave nothing but his very best. He worked hard so he could play harder with his family. This has been such an emotional week for me knowing that I have some HUGE shoes to fill. I know that you'll be guiding me through this program and I promise I will work my very hardest to make you proud Dad. I won't let you down. Thank you for teaching me the value of hard work and really loving life. I love you, you are my hero. :)

Maybe one day...

Is this not the sexiest car you've ever seen!? I was awe struck when I saw this Ferrari pull up to my work last night. I have never seen a better lookin car! It smelled so good to, I wasn't even in the car and I could smell the leather interior. Thanks Nicole for bringing this insanely beautiful ride by! Maybe one day I'll have one of my own! :)

1/4 of the way!

Derek's been out 6 months today! YAY!!!! It's about time! Looking back it's crazy to think he's been gone that long already. He's doing really great! Despite a few break ins, trip to the ER, weird chicken meals (or he thinks), riots, and walking miles and miles in the blazing hot weather...He loves the Dominican Republic! He has really embraced the people there and loves the members. He's been in Sanchez for 4 months and is most likely going to get transferred soon. He loves the area, it's beautiful! I am so proud of him and so I thought I'd show ya'll what he's been up to the past 6 months. Keep it up bud! You are so incredible! We love you so so much!!!! Only 18 more fast sundays! :0)
